The cookies we use (the digital kind)

Cookies are small text files a website saves in your browser. This page lists the ones Bake Nook uses, why, and how you can control them.

Last updated: September 29, 2026

In plain words

  • We use a few cookies for visit statistics and site security.
  • We do not use advertising cookies on our own site.
  • Amazon may set its own cookies after you click a product link.
  • You can block or delete cookies in your browser at any time.

What cookies are

A cookie is a small file saved by your browser when you visit a website. It helps the site remember things, such as whether you have visited before. Some cookies are set by the site itself (first-party cookies). Others are set by services the site uses (third-party cookies).

Types of cookies we use

Strictly necessary and security cookies

These keep the site working and safe, for example by blocking harmful bots. They do not track you for advertising.

Analytics cookies

These help us see which guides are useful, how people find us and where pages can be clearer. The reports we see are in summary form.

Affiliate cookies from Amazon

When you click a product link, you go to Amazon’s website. Amazon may then set its own cookies, on Amazon’s domain, to record that you came from Bake Nook so it can pay us a commission. Those cookies are controlled by Amazon under Amazon’s own cookie and privacy notices. Read our Affiliate Disclosure for how this works.

How to control cookies

You are in control. You can:

  • Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Look for “Privacy” or “Cookies” in Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Edge.
  • Use your browser’s private or incognito mode, which clears cookies when you close the window.
  • Install Google’s official Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to stop Google Analytics from collecting your visits on any site.
  • Turn on Global Privacy Control (GPC) in a supporting browser. We treat it as an opt-out request.
  • If a cookie notice appears when you visit, use it to accept or decline analytics cookies.

Good to know

Blocking all cookies will not stop you reading Bake Nook. Some security checks may appear more often, and our visit statistics will simply not include you.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page if we add, remove or change cookies. The “Last updated” date at the top shows the latest version.
